Makaton Friendly Status
We have worked hard as a school to become Makaton Friendly. All staff are trained to use Makaton. You should be able to see staff using it when we greet the children and you may see your children signing at home.
Makaton is a great tool for communication and language. It supports all children in this area of education and also ensures that they can communicate with all their friends.
If you are interested in learning Makaton a good place to start is makaton.org and their sign of the week.

Activities to try at home

Even some of the smallest changes can make a big difference to your child.
Children love it when you chat, play and read with them, even if they do not understand everything. Whatever the time and wherever you are, you can turn almost anything into a game.
And every little thing you do together will help set them up for the day they start school.
