Biography

I have been head teacher at Hillfields Nursery School since September 2016. I have worked as a teacher in Coventry for over 15 years. I have always enjoyed working in the Early Years and so when the opportunity to work at Hillfields Nursery School came up it was too good to miss. I live nearby with my partner and daughter and our pets. My daughter is now at secondary school, growing up too fast. Our dog, Sunny helps keep us fit with long walks at the weekends.

Biography

I am married with two grown-up daughters. I have spent most of my professional life in Coventry and I am passionate about every child accessing quality education and achieving their potential. For thirteen years I taught across the primary age range with a keen focus on the early years. I then spent twelve years working for the local authority as an adviser for Early Years, supporting schools and settings across Coventry in developing and sustaining high quality early years education. I joined the governing body of Hillfields Nursery School in January 2017 as a co-opted governor. Currently, I am chair of the governing body and a regular visitor in school in my capacity as Chair. I have high expectations of and aspirations for the educational experience children will have at Hillfields and the progress that they make during their time in our school.

Biography

I have worked in childcare for over thirty years. Initially as a nursery officer in council run day nurseries and also as a manager in a private day nursery. I worked for the charity organisation NCH for four years before moving to Frederick Bird Primary School as a Learning Mentor. My role within school now is Family Support Worker. I worked at this school for nearly 12 years. I feel it is so important that children are given the best possible start as they begin their educational journey. As a governor at Hillfields Nursery School, I am keen to support the staff in ensuring the children here are given all the opportunities to enable them to reach their full potential.

Biography

I became interested in being a parent governor at Hillfields nursery school when my son attended in 2018. I have 13 years teaching experience prior to having my son. Being a governor has given me the chance to express my views in teaching and learning, sharing my experience in education and an insight in the day to day operations of a nursery. I enjoy being part of a team that wants to do the best for its learners are committed to moving ideas forward.

Biography

I have lived in Hillfields for many years and have seen lots of changes. I was originally asked to be a community governor at Hillfields Early Years Centre following my long involvement in many local groups such as the police forum, WATCH and the Environment Health Action Group. I am now a co-opted governor. I hope that being involved with the nursery school as a governor will help sustain and further develop the good practice Hillfields has long been renowned for the good of the children in the Hillfields area.
